What are renewable energy community group buying schemes?
Community buying groups have been used across the country as a way for people to collectively buy renewable energy systems (such as solar, heat pumps, biomass or wind turbines) at a discounted rate from a tried, tested and trusted company.
How do renewable energy community group buying schemes work?
They normally start when established green groups form a partnership with a local reputable renewable energy partner. The partnership is announced to the community with interested homeowners being urged to find out more directly or at a launch event. Members of the community can contact the partner company and arrange for a survey of their property to be carried out.
