The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is a independent scheme that certifies microgeneration (renewable energy) products and installers and ensures that there is an accepted and consistent standard for the installation of renewable energy products. The scheme evaluates microgeneration products and installers against robust criteria which gives the consumer greater protection.
The MCS is the only certification scheme to cover all microgeneration products and services, and is support by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), industry and non-governmental groups.
