Gas, oil, LPG, ground source, air source, biomass? With so many heating options, how do you know what heating system is best for a new home or renovation?
When you are building a new home or renovating, your heating system is a crucial decision and one which needs to be made early on in your design process. Many of our clients come to us having received conflicting advice on the best heating system for their property. This is largely because there is no standard off-the-shelf answer and often the company giving the advice will be interested in selling you a particular heat source.

How to decide what heating system is best for a new home
The best way to evaluate your options for heating and energy use, is to share your architect’s plans with our specialist energy designers. We can use your plans to assess the feasibility for your heating options and design a system for you. We are happy to work with your architect to produce the best solution for you that fits with your plans and delivers the result you want.
From your plans we can produce a full and complete heat loss survey on a room-by-room basis and design your underfloor heating, ground or air source heat pump, or biomass boiler, mechanical ventilation heat recovery, solar PV, solar hot water, battery systems and remote monitoring. Our specialists will recommend the size, design and specification of your heating and energy system and show you your anticipated running costs and energy savings.
We have specialist teams across the UK who are experienced, qualified installers and we will work with your builder and/or architect should you require our installation service. Here are some examples of our work with new homes.
