EnergyMyWay have successfully installed our first Solar PV Battery Backup System. This is one of the first in the UK, but they are very popular in Spain where subsidies are paid to individuals when they use the electricity that is generated from their Solar PV systems rather than just being paid for generation as happens with the UK Feed-in Tariff scheme.
The system we have installed is manufactured in Holland and has many excellent design features with full internet connectivity as standard so you can monitor your electrical generation and how much electricity you consume from your Solar PV Battery Backup system online.
The system works by storing any excess energy you generate during the day in the deep cycle Solar PV batteries. When you start to use more electricity than you are generating the stored electricity is then called out of the batteries for use in your home rather than buying the electricity in from the grid.
Using a Solar Power Battery Backup System you should increase your self consumption to 80% which could increase the amount you save on your electricity bills to approx. £350 and you will also still receive the Feed-in Tariff for generating the electricity in the first place!
