PV for the slate roofs of Devon
Many of our clients here in Devon have slate roofs and some are concerned about the visual impact of solar panels. We now install to slate roofs using black panels with black backing, we even use black clamps! We have designed a system that keeps the panels close to the roof giving an almost semi integrated appearance. The result can be seen in this picture of a 3.76kW array in Cornworthy.
Our client spent a long time exploring the various fitting systems and was also concerned about installers drilling through the tiles. Our method is to remove the existing slates in the locations that require brackets and replace them with custom built aluminium slates which carry our fittings. The result is an attractive and structurally robust solution as well as another very happy client!
