Launch of the domestic renewable heat incentive announced

This is the news anyone who knows anything about renewable energy has been waiting for. Homeowners all over the UK can now switch to renewable energy heating such as Biomass Boilers and Ground Source Heat Pumps or Air Source Heat Pumps, with the costs of a fully installed system covered by the brand new government subsidy as well as bill savings.

This weeks launch of the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive marks a significant change in the way homes all over the UK will use their energy. No more reliance on expensive, unsustainable fossil fuels and even better, there?s still time to switch to renewable energy before next winter!

EnergyMyWay Director, James Eades comments, ?Finally some genuinely good news about the future of our energy. Over the next few years we are going to see the biggest change in the way UK homeowners heat their homes thanks to an incentive that makes the switch to renewable heating affordable and practical for everyone.

We have seen this happening already in the commercial sector where the Renewable Heat Incentive has been running for some time, so we anticipate homeowners will be keen to investigate their renewable heating options straightaway and avoid another winter of expensive bills.?

How the Renewable Heat Incentive Works

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive is designed to encourage property owners to use renewable energy for heating and hot water instead of unsustainable fossil fuels like oil and gas.

  •  It is paid to the owner of the property over 7 years with payments calculated to cover the cost of your fully-installed renewable energy system.
  • Biomass Boilers, Solar Thermal Systems, Air Source Heat Pumps and Ground Source Heat Pumps all qualify for the incentive, but you must make sure you use an MCS accredited company, such as EnergyMyWay, to install your system in order to qualify for the Renewable Heat Incentive payments.
  • Renewable Heat Incentive payment rates vary depending on your chosen system and how much you use your heating. Your local EnergyMyWay representative will advise you on the best system for your home and how much you can expect to be paid.
