For solar pv (panels that produce electricity) systems, the feed in tariff lasts for 25 years. For most other technologies, it’s 20 years. The feed in tariff is index linked and guaranteed to protect your Feed in Tariff income from inflation.

Tariffs will be reviewed every five years – starting in 2013 – and at that stage, the amount new applicants receive and the duration of the tariff may change. Early adopters are most likely to benefit from higher tariffs and a greater return on their investment.
