How green has the coalition been in the first 100 days?

PV installation Oxfordshire roofThe new coalition government set out to be the greenest this fair land had ever seen, but are they living up to their promises?

One of the first things they did was to scrap the low carbons building program, reduce the budget of the Department of Energy and Climate Change and increase the threshold of 0% interest loans being offered by the Carbon Trust, hardly a very green start.  But on the other hand they have given their support to the continuation of Feed in Tariffs are supporting a further cut of carbon emissions across the EU and are setting up the Green Investment bank which will help home owners fund “green” home renovations.

So whilst they take away with one hand they give with another, in these austere times we should be happy they are not taking with both!
