Scotland leads the way with the introduction of interest-free loans. Managed by Energy Saving Scotland, homeowners interested in installing renewable energy can apply for a loan of up to £2,000. With a basic installation starting from £2,500, this offer makes renewable energy more affordable for all homeowners.
Loans are time-limited and operate on a first-come first-served basis. More information can be found by visiting The Home-Renewables-Loan-Scheme at www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/scotland
The new green loan scheme, kicked off on April 1, 2011 and a total of £500,000 has been set aside by the Scottish Government in order to help householders install green energy generating equipment. The loans, will work alongside the feed-in tariff and the recently announced Renewable Heat Incentive, adding an extra enticement to install solar thermal or power systems. There has never been a better time to save energy and go green.
