Solar Panels should be ordered now before FiT rate drop in January

Sunpower Solar PV installOfgem has confirmed that the Feed-in Tariff rate for Solar PV installations <50kW will drop on 1st January 2015 by 3.5%.

Solar panel installations on domestic roofs and smaller commercial systems that are commissioned before the end of the year will be locked into today’s higher rate for 20 years, tax-free, so our advice is to order solar panels now to secure the greatest returns. The table below shows the new rates confirmed for solar panels commissioned from 1st January.

The popularity of solar panels in the UK continues to increase as more people switch on to lower electricity bills and tax-free earnings from the government’s Feed-in Tariff incentive. Solar Panels are more affordable and more efficient than ever and the returns from the Feed-in Tariff make solar a very sound investment for almost anyone with a roof. If you are considering solar panels for your home or business, now really is the time to do it and secure yourself the best returns from the Feed-in Tariff.
