Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (12 November, 2014) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
This homeowner had recently moved into a new house and was keen to reduce the size of his energy bills. EnergyMyWay surveyed the property for solar panels and also for a possible future installation of an Air Source Heat Pump, once a planned extension has been completed. Our customer wanted advice from a reputable Warwickshire renewable energy company that could offer all types of technology, not just solar panels. However he was keen to benefit immediately from the Feed-in Tariff incentive available through a solar panel installation.
We recommended a highly-efficient 285w Seraphim PV panel, with extended product guarantees, to provide greater peace of mind. With a higher performance than most solar panels this meant less panels were needed to generate the same amount of electricity. We also installed an Optimmersion wireless controller, which will divert excess solar energy to the immersion heater, to maximise use of the electricity generated and to help reduce his oil bills for heating hot water.
