Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (6 November, 2014) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.

The owners of this private property with log cabin annexe were looking to install solar panels and maximise the financial returns on their investment. Our survey identified the annexe roof as the ideal location, once a ground mounted system was discounted due to planning constraints

The annexe has an unusual tiled roof finish which was incompatible the traditional solar roof hook system. We therefore used a GSE mounting system which removes the tiles and provides a ‘tray’ style mount for the solar panels. To maximise returns from the Feed-in Tariff we installed 16 Amerisolar 250w panels on South facing roof.
