Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (10 February, 2014) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
These Kent homeowners wanted to reduce their electricity bill and earn a return on investment from the government Feed-in Tariff. The property was suitable for Solar PV as a flat roof area could be used as well as the south facing roof elevation.
EnergyMyWay installed 8 Sunpower 327W panels; 4 on the rear south facing roof and 4 on the flat roof area, using ballasted Hilti low profile A frames . To make the most of the solar energy produced, an Immersun2 divert device was connected to the storage heater so excess solar energy can be diverted into water heating.
