Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (1 July, 2012) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.

With its high on-site demand for electricity, New College Swindon approached a number of renewable energy suppliers looking for a solution that would massively reduce their costs and generate a significant return on investment.

EnergyMyWay won the tender on this site due to its excellent public sector track record, detailed approach to design, system modelling approach, equipment specification and its professionalism and competitive pricing.

As a new build the principal challenge of this job was to work with the manufacturer of the roof cladding in order to maintain the warranty and to offset any risk, both of which were met using a the roof-cladding manufacturer’s own standing seam clamp mounting system.

The building’s south facing steel roof was used to install a 50 kWp system, using 204 panels of UK manufactured, 245 W Sharp polycrystalline modules to optimise power generation.

A satisfied customer, New College Swindon are considering further installations in the future.
