Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (12 March, 2015) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
The objective was to provide a highly efficient system, giving maximum output with a limited roof space. In order to utilise as much roof space as possible, the south and west facing elevations were to be used.
The equipment selected were Sun Power 327 W panels, and Solar Edge optimisers. This suited the solar panels being located on different elevation, and reduced the effects of some minor shading from the adjacent property during winter months. Our client also required as best a warranty as possible, and using this equipment a 25 year performance and manufacturing warranty was possible.
