Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (12 March, 2015) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
A call from a developer requiring a small solar PV system to ensure that a new build property SAP calculations could be met. Unfortunately the requirements had not been fully detailed by the designer and handover was imminent.The roof area was complicated and only a small area would be suitable for mounting of panels.The south and and west facing elevations were to be utilised.
We were able to meet the specified system size and roof constraints by utilising small footprint high output Hyundai panels, and ABB micro-inverters. Extra fixings were provided for the panels as they in effect stand alone and close to the roof edges.
