Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (1 July, 2012) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
As an arable farm seeking a secure way to generate income Blank Bank Farm looked to EnergyMyWay to supply a renewable energy source which would bring a good return on investment.
The installation was completed over a 3 day period in July. There are 40 British made Sharp panels connected to a Power One inverter. The panels are fixed through the fibre cement roof to the timber purlins of the building structure. Extra care was needed with trying to make the panels as flat as possible as the roof was very undulating.
