Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (27 November, 2014) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
This homeowner approached EnergyMyWay looking to maximise the returns from an investment in Solar PV by generating free electricity and accessing the government Feed-in Tariff. The client was interested in a roof-integrated solar panel array. We carried out a thorough survey and identified the best opportunity for solar panels would be on the west facing roof of the main house and the south facing garage roof.
EnergyMyWay designed and installed a 3kWp solar array consisting of 9 x 265W Seraphim panels on the house and a further 6 solar panels on the garage. The design makes the most of the orientation of the property and roof space available and will give our client an income of around £700 tax free for the next 20 years, as well as the added protection from rising electricity bills.
