Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (24 February, 2014) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
Mr and Mrs W live in a large bungalow in a rural area near Horncastle. They have relied on an oil boiler for years, but have been concerned about the efficiency of their system and the running costs. They also had limited options for energy provision due to the location of their property, being off the mains gas grid. They wanted a system that had the capacity to meet the heating and hot water requirements for their property whilst providing them with the opportunity for a good financial return through bill savings and the Renewable Heat Incentive. The garage could be used to house any equipment required for the installation of a new heating system.
Due to the requirements expressed by the homeowners and the space available to use, EnergyMyWay suggested that the most suitable option was to install an Effecta Komplett III Biomass Boiler with a wood pellet store in the garage.
EnergyMyWay arranged for the inefficient oil burner to be removed from the property and be replaced with an Effecta Komplett III biomass pellet boiler. The boiler provides direct hot water in a similar fashion to the home’s previous ‘combi’ boiler. It also provides weather compensated heating which optimises the efficiency of the heating system. EnergyMyWay also installed a large wood pellet store which helps keep the running costs low for the customer; the wood pellets are delivered by a lorry which means it is convenient for the customer as no manual handling is required.
