Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (12 December, 2015) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
The landlord of this building wanted to reduce service charge costs and also to get a good return on investment from a Solar PV installation. There are complications with shading from roof top plant and the parapet wall.
The solution was to use a high output panel (LG Neon) to maximise the size of the array at 30kWp.
In addition two Solaredge inverters were used which optimises the output from each panel thereby minimising the effect of shading and maximising output and hence return on investment.
