Burton Hathow is a brand new preparatory school who approached EnergyMyWay late in the year looking for a solution for heating the school that avoided the high cost oil and one that was in keeping with their ethos of sustainability, nature and creativity as well as generating a reasonable return on investment.
The school also had plans for further expansion and were looking for a partner who could provide a solution that would meet both their current and future needs.
The school’s goals of using a sustainable fuel source and cutting energy bills were achieved with the installation of two 35kW biomass wood pellet boilers from Swedish manufacturer Effecta which will save around £1,500 a year on fuel costs and generate an annual income of over £7,000 a year through the Renewable Heat Incentive when the school has expanded to use the full capacity of the boilers.
With a tight schedule, and planning permission only recently granted, the work was carried out and completed within four weeks in December in time for the school to open in the New Year.
Having completed the installation, EnergyMyWay were very pleased to be asked to discuss the importance and benefits of sustainable and environmentally friendly energy sources in the classroom!
