Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (12 June, 2014) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
Fire Safe Solutions is a fire consultancy company based in Southampton. They approached EnergyMyWay looking to use the Renewable Heat Incentive to replace an existing gas boiler and install renewable energy heating, which would be more economical to run. In particular, the office building was cold on Monday after the weekend, but the heating was too expensive to keep the building warm when unoccupied.
EnergyMyWay designed and installed a Froling Biomass Boiler. The new wood pellet boiler was connected directly to the existing heating circuits, providing plentiful low cost heat in the winter months. The Renewable Heat Incentive will earn the company just short of £4,000 a year and they will enjoy heating bill savings of around £650 a year, so they can keep the heating on and ensure the staff are warm on a Monday morning.
