Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (9 July, 2014) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.

The owner of this new-build farm house was suffering very high heating bills when a colleague recommended her to EnergyMyWay for a review of her renewable energy options. The property was reliant on oil for heating and running an AGA. We recommended a 35kW ETA  biomass boiler as the ideal solution for heating and hot water, after discounting a ground source heat pump due to limited land space available.

Access around the side of the property was limited so we designed a bespoke fuel store, removing and old oil tank and giving our client the access needed.

Our biomass boiler experts identified different heat flow requirements in the property and were able to set up separate heating zones which can be controlled independently. We installed a pumping station which means our client is able to heat the underfloor heating separately from the first floor radiators and the hot water, making heating more efficient and cheaper. The AGA was converted to electricity and powered by a ground mounted Solar PV array (see separate case study).
