Return is calculated using combined bill savings and subsidy earnings. Bill savings are calculated using estimated energy usage and either the electricity price at the time of installation (12 June, 2014) or, for our heating products, the existing fuel type available to the property.
The owner of this large, solid-wall farm house and barn conversion was suffering increasing energy bills as the property is off the mains gas grid and reliant on oil for heating. Our client was aware of the potential returns on investment that could be achieved from installing a renewable energy heating system. He approached EnergyMyWay to review his options.
EnergyMyWay designed a biomass boiler system that will deliver long-term cheaper heating bills and a healthy return on investment from the Renewable Heat Incentive. Our Cheshire biomass boiler experts recommended and installed a 35kW ETA biomass boiler with a nine-tonne fuel store. We designed and installed an enclosure for the fuel store.
A weather compensation system was fitted, which detects outdoor temperature changes and ensures the boiler predicts variations of inside temperature and maintains consistent heat levels. This type of system is known to reduce heating bills by a further 15%.
The farm house and barn conversion were being heated as one heating zone with the original oil boiler. As part of the biomass boiler heating design, EnergyMyWay separated the properties into two different zones so that the temperature demands of the two buildings can be managed individually, generating further savings and a greater return on investment.
